The Culinary Training and Job Placement program at Ocean Galley, LLC is a 4-week program that prepares adults facing barriers or unskilled for offshore employment to sustain secure and stable careers. Our program provides critical culinary and professional offshore skills needed for cooks to thrive in the offshore food service industry.
Culinary Curriculum USCG
The program includes “hands-on” training instructed by a Culinary Instructor. All students will complete the ServSafe Food Manager’s Certification Course. Other courses include knife skills for fruit, vegetables, and fresh herbs; stock and sauces; cooking techniques and methods; baking and pastry art; and management skills.
The students are also taught the importance of job-readiness skills such as punctuality, computer literacy, grocery ordering, positive work behavior, and teamwork.
Prior to the training program, candidates must meet the kitchen’s standards for attitude and literacy. In addition, candidates must be drug free.
Graduates of the training program will be motivated, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and ready to be part of the team at your foodservice or hospitality business.
